Tom J. Hannon (May 5, 1947 – May 29, 2025) was the founder of Hannon & Associates Financial Services and was a leader in the financial services industry for more than 49 years. He is deeply missed by his clients, team, family and community.
Tom built his business on honesty, authenticity, and genuine care for every person who walked through the door. He grew his business through hard work, discipline and organization. He believed in people-focused solutions that are time-tested and reliable so that he was able to help his clients have financial confidence and pursue their goals. He treated every client as family and was willing to help anyone, regardless of their financial situation.
In addition to his office in Austintown, Ohio, prior to his passing he had supervisory oversight over offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virigina. He has managed other firms since 1978 and his office was in the top 50 nationwide for many years. He held the Series 24, Series 65, Series 7, Series 63, Series 51 and Series 1 and also the Ohio Life, Health, & Variable Annuities License. He was licensed in 36 states. He had been a Certified Financial Planner for over 35 years.
Along with helping his clients, Tom served his community as the Mayor of McDonald from 1987-1998 as well as serving as a councilman for 12 years and a member of the McDonald Board of Education for 6 years. His passion for giving back and helping others to succeed has shined in his work both in and out of the office.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, which includes his wife, four daughters, son-in-laws, 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loves watching his grandchildren compete in volleyball, basketball, tennis, and track and field and was a donor and supporter of McDonald athletics and West Liberty University Basketball. He was also a parishioner at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard and freely gave back his time, talent and treasurers to his community.
His legacy in financial services will continue under the leadership of his daughter, Lori, and his grandsons Zachary and Gregory.
